Cambri Turns 2

Cambri turned 2! We celebrated in style with a CoComelon cake. Emily and the girls baked a strawberry cake covered in green frosting to make it look like a watermelon. The girls fought over who got to lick the frosting off the whisk, but since Cambri was the birthday girl, she obviously won.

For dinner on her birthday we had some homemade fettuccine alfredo. Making homemade noodles can get to be quite the process when working with gluten free flour, but I'm getting better at it. I don't think I swore once this time.

Emily was trying to figure out how to make a dome-shaped cake in order to look like a watermelon. So a couple weeks ago she baked a test cake using a glass Pyrex bowl. It worked out great.

It's all worth it to see that smile on her face.

The intensity on her face while she eats is pretty fun to watch.

The girls have been in gymnastics for a few months now, and have really enjoyed it. We got her a wedge mat for her birthday. Her favorite thing to do with it is to fold it up and jump off it. Her landings were a little rough at first, but she's starting to stick more and more of them.

She also scored some dolls from Meemaw, books from her cousins, and a stuffed unicorn from Gma Rae.

There was a break in the cold and wet weather, so we were able to run outside and take a few birthday pictures.

Our Cambridge is a very happy little girl. She's also very overemotional about every little thing, pretty much just like every other little kid. She has a fun and goofy energy that has really added to the noise in our home. She bullies Hadley like crazy, but will then turn around and do something nice for her. She has sweet and fun personality, which has been fun to watch develop. We are extremely lucky and blessed to have her.
