Emily's birthday is the day after Halloween, so the celebrations shift from spooky and fright to celebrations for the most beloved figure in our family.
For her dinner this year, Emily requested some homemade fettucine alfredo and southern fried chicken. No to toot my own horn, but it all came out great, especially the chicken. The chicken ended up being what everyone wanted to eat, and the fettucine alfredo took a backseat.
Crewe was all about it, too.
Afterwards, we enjoyed singing happy birthday and eating some mint chocolate mousse pie.
Harlow kept sneaking some of the whipped cream before Emily could blow out the candles.
It's always fun to celebrate Emily. She's the one that keeps us all in line and functioning like a "normal" family. For that, I'm grateful. We would be a mess without her. That responsibility might stress her out, but she does way better at it than she thinks, and is more important to us than she realizes.
