The last couple of winters haven't brought very much snow with them, unfortunately. So, finally at the start of February, we got a few inches. The kids wasted no time in getting their snow gear on and running outside to play in the snow. Emily filled up some spray bottles with water and food dye so they could spray the snow to see the colors. Spraying the snow quickly turned into spraying everything and everyone other than the snow.
Crewe got his first taste of it, and he wasn't exactly a fan at first.
Harlow really enjoyed sheltering under the trampoline, which flew away in a wind storm a few days later. The wind storm came out of nowhere and I didn't have it weighted down well enough. Emily called me at work to let me know the trampoline was gone. When it was light enough outside she found it across the street in the blackberry bushes. I spend the afternoon pulling it out and disassembling it in the cold wind. The whole top end was crushed. It was cheaper to buy a new one than it was to pay for the replacement parts.
Anyway, Harlow is a big fan of the snow.
We had a few days of fresh snow, and some mornings, she just couldn't wait.
Hadley, our dear little sweetheart of a child, punched a kid at school. Emily got an email from the teacher, who decided not to discipline Hadley this time because Hadley basically put herself in timeout right away. When I talked to her teacher after school, I kind of got the impression that the kid Hadley punched has a history of annoying everyone, including the teacher. That's not what she said, but it's how she made it sound.
Emily's friend, Krystal, crocheted some stuff for the kids. It was very nice of her, and the girls absolutely love them.
Crewe is proving to be a lot like Harlow, and will just fall asleep wherever and whenever he feels like it.
While Hadley and Cambri are at school all day, Emily gets to introduce some of her experiments to Harlow and Crewe.
Speaking of falling asleep whenever and wherever, can you spot where Harlow fell asleep in this photo?
And yes, Emily picked her up and laid her down.
On Valentine's day we had a little dinner by candlelight. A little competition to see who could blow out the most candles while sitting in their seat soon commenced.
Emily found out that the library does book readings and little experiments for kids during the day, so she has started taking Crewe and Harlow to the book readings, which they've enjoyed.
Emily made the comment while going through her photos that she mostly only has pictures of Crewe and Harlow. So, here are some of Hadley and Cambri. Although, to be fair, they both have way more photos than the other kids.
We had a weekend where the weather was awesome. It was sunny and the temperature got up to mid-60. We spend a good few chunks of time outside, while the kids roamed around and enjoyed it all.
