Hadley Turns 6!

Hadley's birthday was just a couple of days after we arrived home from our road trip. Usually Emily likes to make a practice cake and figure out her frosting, but she didn't have that much time for this one. It didn't matter, she crushed it.

Crewe has moved on to some baby food, and Cambri is always more than willing to feed him.

"Help me."

Hadley asked if she could open her presents before dinner and cake. Traditionally, it's the other way around, but it's her birthday, so who cares?

She wanted a unicorn-themed cake, so we got them headbands to match.

She got a Mermaidcorn, similar to the one Cambri got for her birthday, except this one is the puppy.

She also got a little mp3 music player she's be asking for. Now she can listen to all the Gabby Cat she wants, preferably in her room with the door closed so we can't hear it.

She also a Barbie color-reveal doll. You don't know what color it is until you submerge it in water. After opening it, Emily realized they had sent the wrong one. We returned it to Amazon, and they sent a replacement, which was also the wrong one. So we returned it again and got a refund. Instead, we went to Target and found the right one.

For dinner, she requested long green noodles (homemade fettucine pesto).

Hadley was pretty stoked about it.

Emily always acts like she's having a hard time and that the cake isn't turning out, but then always busts out a gem.

Everyone enjoyed it. How could you not enjoy a Nutella cream-layered cake?

It was a good day, rather lowkey, but they had a blast.

It's been fun to see how much Hadley has grown over the past year. She has an amazing spirit about her, and usually always willing to help out. She will come into our room in the middle of the night and wake us up, just to tell us she loves us, then goes back to bed. She is a happy little kid that laughs a lot. We are so proud of her and can't wait to see what she does this year.
